| Installation Training Class Descriptions
Commercial Vinyl Basic Class
3 Day
This “hands on” training program will run from 8:00A.M. until 4:30 P.M. all 3 days. It is designed for a current vinyl mechanic who wants to learn more about commercial vinyl installations, or needs a refresher course to pass the Armstrong Commercial Sheet certification We will teach the basic techniques for all Armstrong commercial sheet vinyl products. It will cover all of the current Armstrong installation systems, including all scribing methods, flash coving, heat welding and the new S-761 seaming method. These will be the same projects that an installer will need to pass to get the certification.

Armstrong Residential
Basic Vinyl Class
3 Day This basic class is designed for someone who is new to vinyl installations. Some floor covering experience is helpful, but not necasary. Free hand knifing, pattern scribing and direct scribe fitting techniques will be taught. We will cover both full spread and interflex products. Time permitting we will touch on some of the commercial products.

Laminate School
2 Day This 2 day class will cover the installation and repair of all 3 of the laminate products that we carry at Ohio Valley Flooring, Armstrong, Quick-Step and Wilsonart. All 3 installations are different enough that we felt a real need to have this type of class. If you have floor covering or carpentry experience and want to learn the proper way to install laminate flooring then this is for you!!

Pre-Finished Wood School
2 day
This hands on class covers all of the basics of pre-finished wood installations. Product knowledge as well as all of the procedures for nail down, glue down and floating wood floor installations. Jobsite conditions, floor prep and repair for all is also included.

Armstrong Wood Certification
This class is designed for a current wood installer who would like to become certified by Armstrong. This is not a teaching class, it is a testing class. The installer must pass a written test as well as the hands on portion of the class. Installer must know how to install nail down, glue down and floating floors, as well as make repairs.

Kahrs Koncept
This is a class designed to teach the of Kahrs Woodloc Flooring. This will include jobsite conditions, floor prep, all of the installation techniques. We will also cover repairs, anything from small gouges and scratches, to a full board replacement
